There are not very many people that have the dedication & work ethic of Will Smith!
We can all learn something from his dedication and work ethic.
I mean this GUY is willing to DIE on a treadmill to achieve his dreams.
Watch this video! You will love it!
In this video Will Smith recommends a book called “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.
I’ve had the pleasure of reading this book for myself and I have to say it’s pretty inspiring.
Here Are 3 Lessons Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist Teaches Us
1. Whoever you are, or whatever is it that you do, when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
When we think about something day and night for weeks or even months on end it’s rare that this thing doesn’t happen.
Think about it.
I can’t remember one thing that I wanted to happen over a period of weeks or months that hasn’t actually happened or manifested itself in some way. Either I’m really lucky or my conviction to my dreams is strong enough to make them happen.
Whatever you wish deep from your heart always comes to pass. It’s the power of your conviction that makes it happen.
2. In the long run, what people think about us becomes more important than our own destinies.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “keeping up with the Jones’?”
I’ve seen it quite a lot with people I used to know. They buy stuff they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t like.
They dress the same, they look the same and they even act the same. All to be accepted in their own social circle of losers.
It’s different when you’re a child.
Do you remember?
When you could just be yourself and do whatever you wanted without worrying what the person next to you would think. (I’m still like that)
3. “Don’t think what you have left behind. Everything is written on the soul of the world and there it will stay forever. If what one finds is of pure matter, it will never spoil. And one can always come back. If what you had found was only a moment of light, like the explosion of a star, you would find nothing on your return.”
You can’t take a step forward and stay where you are.
By that I mean you can’t expect to move on into the future without letting go of the present.
Most people are afraid of risking what they have now to make progress.
Like in business you have to risk your money to make more money.
In reference to the novel, Santiago was a shepherd but he decides to sell all his sheep and goes in search of his treasure. Had he been reluctant to give up his sheep, he would have always been a shepherd. On the other hand, whether he found his treasure or not, he would always be a shepherd because he knew how to tame sheep.
